PROJECT OUTCOMES:
The project achieved 65 mobilities between 14 HEIs from Region 1 (Albania, BiH) and Region 2 (Georgia, Ukraine). Implemented were 12 long-term SMS study mobilities (BiH, HR, GE, UA), 17 short-term incoming SMS–BIP (BiH, Albania) addressing low interest in incoming long-term SMS, and 7 traineeships (2 outgoing to BiH, 2 incoming from Albania, 3 from Georgia). The first SMS mobility from Georgia to VEVU’s Administrative Department and the first outgoing SMS to Albania were realized. Of 30 staff mobilities, 10 STT (8 incoming training, 2 outgoing job shadowing) and 19 STA (9 incoming combined teaching/training from both regions, 1 incoming job shadowing, 9 outgoing to Region 1) were completed. Financial support was fully used for outgoing students; in Region 1 incoming it remained unused despite strong communication, while in Region 2 it was maximally utilized. Established internal procedures, KA171 MONITORING tools and VEVU’s communication package ensured project management and budget monitoring, enabling impact despite challenges, as confirmed by results.
With this outcomes the project significantly strengthened the internationalisation capacities of all participating institutions. It enabled diversification of mobility flows, continuity in developing internationalisation across institutions, and expansion of opportunities for students and staff, ensuring greater accessibility and inclusiveness, particularly for participants with fewer opportunities (44% of students involved). Staff mobilities and joint activities such as International Staff Weeks enhanced professional competences, supported knowledge and experience sharing, and reinforced long-term cooperation. The overall impact is reflected in stronger international visibility, internationalisation at home, improved quality and sustainability of institutional cooperation, and strengthened capacities for further development of internationalisation strategies. These outcomes contribute to the strategic goals of 14 higher education institutions in 5 countries, and in particular to fulfilling the ERASMUS POLICY STATEMENT 2021–2027 of the applicant institution, aligned with EHEA trends.
