The European University Water Polo Championship 2023, held at the Ellipsum Pools in Miskolc, Hungary, ended on July 19, 2023, with a medal award and closing ceremony, welcoming 130 participants from seven universities and three European countries.

As part of the ceremony, there was a symbolic handover of the EUSA flag to the delegation of University “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar, who will be the next hosts of the European University Water Polo Championship in 2025.

Dean of the University, Assist. Prof. PhD Željko Sudarić, prof. of profess. stud., in his address, expressed gratitude to Unisport Croatia for their support and assistance in the nomination for such a significant event, as well as to EUSA – European University Sports Association for the honor and trust bestowed upon them, inviting everyone to Vukovar in 2025.

Alongside the Dean, the closing ceremony was attended by Assist. Prof. PhD Slobodan Stojanović, prof. of profess. stud., Vice Dean for Business Operations and Cooperation with Businesses, Assist. Prof. PhD Sanja Gongeta, prof. of profess. stud., Vice Dean for Professional and Scientific Research and International Cooperation, and Dražen Pejić, mag. cin., senior lecturer, head of the Student Sports Administration of the Student Sports Association SUSVEVU, and a member of the University Council.
