On June 7, 2022, a press conference was held at the College, where our College shared with the media the news that it will host the European Universities Water Polo Championship 2025 based on the decision of the European University Sports Organization (EUSA).

According to the Dean Assistant Professor Željko Sudarić, PhD, College Prof., this hositng did not happen by chance, but behind it is the long and successful work of our Student Sports Association, which has existed for 11 years, teachers and all employees. The City of Vukovar, the County, the Sports Facilities of the City of Vukovar and the Croatian Academic Sports Federation will take part in the organization of this great sporting event in our city, announcing their full support in organizing the championship. With the synergy of all stakeholders who participated in the conference, County Prefect Damir Dekanić, Mayor of Vukovar Ivan Penava, Haris Pavletić, President of the Croatian Academic Sports Federation, Director of Sports Facilities of Vukovar Ivan Szabo, President of the Student Association “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar Dražen Pejić and the Dean of the College, long-term successful cooperation will continue, but also a large sports competition will be organized, which will provide our College, city, county and sports facilities with a special form of promotion among young athletes.

The championship, which will be held in the second half of July 2025, will be attended by 12 men’s and 8 women’s teams from the best water polo countries in Europe.
