On Friday, November 25, 2022, the promotion of the second book “Heroic Vukovar” was held in the Croatian Home in Vukovar, in which one chapter is education in Vukovar since the school year 1997/1998. until 2020/2021″. On that occasion, along with all the other presenters, Dean Sudarić presented the paper “Higher Education in Vukovar”, which presented important data and information about higher education in Vukovar and its historical development, as well as what the College means for our city today, but he also presented the whole one chapter of the book that talks about education in Vukovar through elementary and high school education, and at the same time forms an important part of the history, present and future of our city. The first book “Heroic Vukovar” tells about the preparation of the Great Serbian armed aggression against Croatia and Vukovar in 1991, while the second book talks about the occupation of Vukovar itself, the peaceful reintegration, the return of exiles, the remediation of the consequences of the Great Serbian armed aggression and the reconstruction of the city, as well as the economic and social development since 1998. year to 2021, both books together form an important part of historical material for all those who want to learn more about the war, reconstruction and return of the city of Vukovar and its population. Tatjana Ivić Lovrinović, M.Sc., also made an exceptional contribution to the Higher Education chapter. educ. philo. Croatian. Students and employees of the College took part in the presentation of the book.

38 scientists and experts from different scientific fields and branches collaborated on the project, and 32 chapters on the history of Vukovar from 1991 to 2021 were published in two large books. 1,062 pages were published on the history of Vukovar in the Homeland War, on the struggle of Croatian defenders against Serbian aggressors, on the Serbian occupation and after peaceful reintegration, on the reconstruction of the city and the return of exiles, on the development of the economy and social activities from 1998 to 2021. Over 3,000 historical sources and documents and bibliographic units of literature are listed in the two books, and over 600 documentary photographs and other art contributions have been published. The complete project was carried out at the initiative of the Society for the Promotion of Croatian Culture and Science CROATICA, in cooperation with the Croatian Homeland War Memorial and Documentation Center as the main partner and other scientific, educational and cultural institutions in Croatia on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Great Serbian armed aggression against the Republic of Croatia and Vukovar.
