As part of the STEP UP project for the improvement of professional practice, the students of the 1st and 2nd year of Commerce studies traveled to Zagreb on October 13 and 14, 2022, accompanied by their mentors, Ph.D. Mira Majstorović and Ph.D. Sandra Mrvica Mađarac.

The goal of the study trip was to introduce students to activities supporting the development and improvement of the entrepreneurial society, to encourage them to think entrepreneurially and enter entrepreneurship. Therefore, they visited the Croatian Agency for Small Business, Innovations and Investments – HAMAG BICRO and the Zagreb Innovation Center – ZICER.

Students actively participated in the lectures in which the support programs that HAMAG BICRO offers to entrepreneurs through all phases of their business, from research and development of ideas to commercialization and placement of products and services on the market, were presented. They listened with special attention to the way the Zagreb Innovation Center works, which through various activities, infrastructure and a number of support measures such as mentoring, education, marketing, public relations and the like, ensures the perspective of business development for young people. Innovative and promising entrepreneurs and their entrepreneurial projects were presented to them in a very pleasant environment.

Students have very positive impressions from this study trip because they saw and learned a lot about the possibilities offered to them by choosing an entrepreneurial venture and they were made to know that entrepreneurial success is possible.
