In continuation of the activities within the project “STEP UP – improvement and development of professional practice for VEVU students”, students of the first and second year of the Administrative Studies visited Zagreb on November 2 and 3, 2022.
On the first day of the study trip, students together with their mentors, Ivan Belaj, mag. iur., v. pred. and Ph.D. Sanja Gongeta, college professor, visited the Ministry of Justice and Administration where they had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the organization and work of the ministry and the current reform that is being carried out in the department in the area of their study program, with the aim of increasing the efficiency and quality of public administration in providing and exercising the rights of citizens and economic entities of the Republic of Croatia, decentralization and digitization.
On the second day of their visit to Zagreb, the students of the Administrative Studies visited the State School for Public Administration, where the director and colleagues introduced them to the scope of activities of the State School for Public Administration. The students thus had the opportunity to find out what the professional training and development of state officials, civil servants, public servants and employees in legal entities with public powers looks like, as well as the education of adults, with the aim of permanently raising the level and quality of their knowledge, skills and abilities, in order to shape a professional , an effective and efficient public sector that will provide timely and quality public services. All the positive examples and experiences gained from professional practice that our students and professors met and got to know on this study trip, together with the previous ones, will be useful when creating new curricula and organizing professional practice at the Administrative Studies of the College “Lavoslav Ružička in Vukovar.
