On February 13, 2024, the Dean of the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar, Assist. Prof. dr. sc. Željko Sudarić, and the Vice Dean for Education and Students, Ivan Belaj, mag. iur, senior lecturer, met with representatives of the Croatian National Council, President of the Executive Board Katarina Bašić and Executive Board member for Education Nataša Stipančević, at the premises of the Croatian House Matica in Subotica.

The meeting began with an introductory presentation on the current activities of the Croatian National Council, followed by a joint analysis of the possibilities for studying for Croats from the Republic of Serbia in Vukovar. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including accommodation options at the Student Dormitory “Leopold”, updates in the enrollment procedure, quotas for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia, scholarship opportunities within the Croatian higher education system, past experiences, and more.

This meeting represents another step forward in strengthening cooperation and understanding between the two institutions and confirms their joint commitment to supporting the Croatian community in the Republic of Serbia, based on agreements with the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia.

We thank the Croatian National Council for their excellent cooperation so far and assurances for the continuation of equally successful cooperation in the future.
