The University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar is organizing a mini symposium on the occasion of World Health Day on April 7th, 2024. Our goal is to draw attention to topics that we consider extremely important, such as care, support, and above all, dialogue with marginalized groups such as children with developmental disabilities and persons with disabilities. As a higher education institution, the University VEVU seeks to develop cooperation with associations from the local community, and we see World Health Day as an opportunity to facilitate dialogue, socializing, and the exchange of experiences.

The symposium will involve the following associations: the Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities “Golubica” Vukovar, the Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities “Who is afraid of tomorrow anymore” from Vukovar, the private practice of physical therapy “Ad-manus” from Vinkovci, and the Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities “Vukovar Butterflies” from Vukovar.

What is particularly pleasing is the fact that among the participants of the mini symposium are also several physiotherapists, alumni of the University VEVU in Vukovar, who are recognized as experts and employed in the mentioned associations.
