An introductory lecture for first-year students was held at the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar on October 1, 2025. The lecture aimed to familiarize freshmen with the organization of the study program, students’ rights and responsibilities, and to provide a practical guide for navigating academic and student life.
Students received information about the history and role of the University VEVU, study programs, the ECTS credit system, as well as rules related to exams and assessments. Special emphasis was placed on academic integrity and the importance of a responsible approach to learning.
The work of the student services, library, and opportunities to participate in Erasmus+ mobility programs were also presented. Freshmen were introduced to their student rights, including those related to food and accommodation, scholarships, the work of the Student Council, and various student associations active at the University VEVU.
In a relaxed atmosphere, during the first mentoring session, students received practical advice on time management, regular studying, collaboration with peers, and participation in the social and cultural life of Vukovar.
At the end of the lecture, it was emphasized that studying is not only about acquiring knowledge, but also a period of personal development, new experiences, and building friendships, which will serve as a valuable foundation for their future professional and personal lives.
We wish all students a successful start to the new academic year 2025/2026 and a pleasant stay in our Vukovar!
