The Croatian Hypertension League, in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar, organized a hybrid symposium titled “Vukovar Days – Gases, Endothelium, and Cardio-Reno-Metabolic Health” from November 27 to 29, 2024, as part of the project “Hunting the Silent Killer.” Additionally, two preventive and educational actions were conducted for the citizens of Vukovar.

As part of the “Hunting the Silent Killer” project, students of the undergraduate Physiotherapy program participated as volunteers. The participating students included Marko Cojić, Karlo Nikolić, Bartol Kamenar, Lucija Stanušić, Ana Čalušić, Anamarija Hrastinski, Noemi Matošević, and Frano Mijić, under the professional supervision of Slavica Janković, PhD., prof. of professional studies, and Assist. Prof. PhD. Petar Šušnjara.

The activities involved blood pressure measurements, blood sugar and lipid level testing, and metabolic state analyses. The goal of these actions was to raise awareness among the citizens of Vukovar about the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, regular check-ups, and the early detection of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases.
