On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Mr. Gordan Jandroković, paid an official visit to Vukovar, during which he visited the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar and the student dormitory “Leopold”.

During his visit to the University VEVU, the Speaker was welcomed by the dean, vice-deans, and students, who presented the study programs, ongoing projects, and future development plans. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of higher education in this part of Croatia, as well as on the role of the University in strengthening the local community and retaining young people in the region.

After touring the University, Mr. Jandroković also visited the student dormitory “Leopold”, where construction of a student restaurant is currently underway. During the visit, discussions were held on student living standards, accommodation conditions, and broader social and educational topics relevant to the student population.

The Speaker expressed his satisfaction with the level of organization, infrastructure, and ambition shown by the University and the student dormitory. He praised the efforts of all those involved in creating a high-quality academic and living environment for students, emphasizing that investment in education is the foundation of societal development.

The visit took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, and Speaker Jandroković thanked the hosts for their hospitality and expressed full support for their continued work and progress.
