Organized by our University VEVU and the University of Applied Health Sciences in Zagreb, and under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, the 10^th jubilee International Scientific-Professional Conference “Physiotherapy in Sports, Recreation, and Wellness” took place on November 28–29, 2024. The event began with engaging lectures from esteemed experts from Croatia and abroad.

The keynote speakers were: prof. PhD Geert Pagenstert, MD, Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (University of Basel), primarius PhD Đurđica Kesak-Ursić, MD, specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation (Polyclinic OTOS-Vita), and prof. PhD Mislav Jelić, MD, orthopedic specialist (University Hospital Centre Zagreb, University of Zagreb School of Medicine). Their presentations provided an in-depth insight into current research and approaches in treatment and rehabilitation.

On the second day, the conference continued with sectional presentations where authors of scientific and professional papers shared the latest research and innovations in the fields of sports physiotherapy, recreation, and wellness.

A special highlight of the event was the workshop on “Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)” which provided participants with hands-on training in life-saving techniques for cardiac arrest emergencies.

During the workshop, attendees learned how to perform CPR correctly and understood the importance of rapid intervention in critical situations.

The workshop was led by experienced professionals: Mato Matić, Director of the Institute of Emergency and Rehabilitation Medicine, Vukovar-Srijem County, Assist. Prof. PhD. Jelena Kovačević, Head of the Emergency Medicine Department, and Tomislav Prša, Chief Medical Technician.
