Dear students,

We would like to inform you that Unisport Croatia has opened applications for the second edition of the Volunteering & Leadership Academy “UniSport ViLA” organized by the Croatian Academic Sports Federation. The academy will take place online over four days: March 22^nd & 23^rd and April 26^th & 27^th, 2024. The academy is free for all participants, and upon completion, participants will have the opportunity to participate in the organization and volunteering at the largest sports event of the Croatian Academic Sports Federation, “UniSport Finals 2024,” from May 30^th to June 2^nd, as well as the “Zagreb FISU Forum 2024” from August 27^th to 31^st, which gathers students, university sports officials, and industry experts from around the world to discuss and promote the development of university sports and physical activity.

The Volunteering & Leadership Academy aims to educate young people interested in a career in sports and sports management and to encourage the growth of the number of volunteers in sports. We want to encourage further development of the volunteer base by bringing together all volunteering opportunities in sports in one place and continue a series of well-organized sports projects focused on volunteering. ViLA is envisioned as a hub and connection of organized sports volunteering programs where organizers and volunteers can improve their skills and share experiences.

UniSport ViLA was held for the first time last year and brought together 40 participants from all parts of Croatia who, after 5 weeks of online education and practical tasks, had the opportunity to volunteer at the largest sports event of the Croatian Academic Sports Federation, UniSport Finals 2023, a record-breaking event in terms of the number of participants and sports – 17 teams from Croatian higher education institutions, in two competitive days and 12 sports in both men’s and women’s categories.
