As part of the European Heritage Days event, we invite you to attend the lecture “Heritage That Connects – Wine!” (or hat secrets are hidden in the vineyards along the Danube Wine Route), which will take place on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Council Hall (room 132) on the first floor of the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar.
The lecture is being held as part of the European Heritage Days under the motto “Heritage That Connects – Cultural Routes and Networks!”, which is celebrated in 66 towns across Croatia with more than 130 events. This year’s program offers the public the opportunity to explore cultural routes, regional and local networks, pathways, collaborations, and the diverse cultural heritage that connects us.
The organizers of the lecture are the Conservation Department in Vukovar and Osijek, the Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb, the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Department of Archaeology in Zagreb, the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar, and the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Osijek. The speakers will include M. Dizdar, PhD., T. Leleković, PhD., S. Krznar, PhD., V. Revald Radolić, M.A. in Archaeology, and M. Mikolašević, M.A. in Archaeology and Art History.
The lecture will present hidden details about the vineyards along the Danube, the origins of wine and vineyards on the Danube Wine Route, the unknown Limes, and the connection of the Romans with our vineyards, as well as details about our past and archaeology with the latest research results from the Danube Limes project in Croatia – The Boundaries of the Roman Limes.
