The Student Dormitory “Leopold” in Vukovar and the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar, in collaboration with the Croatian Red Cross Vukovar and the Department of Transfusion Medicine at the Osijek University Hospital, organized a voluntary blood donation charity event on May 15, 2025. The event, held in the student dormitory premises, aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of blood donation and providing assistance to individuals in need of blood transfusions.

The event garnered significant interest among students and staff of the University, who responded in large numbers, demonstrating their solidarity and social responsibility. Their willingness to participate highlights the importance of such actions within the academic community, not only as an opportunity for direct help but also as a way to educate young people about the value of voluntary blood donation.

Collaboration with the Croatian Red Cross Vukovar and the Osijek University Hospital was crucial to the success of the event, and as organizers, we are extremely pleased with the great turnout and engagement of all participants. We plan to continue organizing blood donation drives and further educational activities to encourage even more students to participate in this noble cause.
