The Science Festival was held at the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar from April 20 to 25, 2026, dedicated to the theme “Energy”.

The festival brought together numerous participants who explored the role of energy in everyday life, science, and technology through workshops and poster presentations, with a strong emphasis on connecting theory and practice.

The program opened with a workshop by dr. sc. Erna Davidović Cvetko, prof. of profess. stud., focusing on the energy needs of the human body. On the same day, poster presentations were delivered by Stjepan Jelica, mag. physioth., senior lecturer, on the energy sources of ultramarathon runners, and by Vedran Gongeta, univ. spec. crim., lecturer, on the role of technological energy in protecting European borders.

During the festival, a workshop was also held by Ajla Musić, assistant, addressing the legal aspects of energy as a commodity. The festival concluded with a workshop by dr. sc. Nebojša Nešić, prof. of profess. stud., who introduced participants to the concept of positive energy.

Once again, the festival confirmed its importance in promoting science and connecting the academic community with the public. The program was free of charge, and the high level of interest and positive atmosphere marked this year’s edition.
