The University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar, in collaboration with the University of Applied Health Sciences in Zagreb, is organizing the 10^th International Scientific and Professional Conference titled “Physiotherapy in Sports, Recreation, and Wellness”, which will be held on November 28–29, 2024, in the Conference Hall of the University VEVU.

The aim of this interdisciplinary conference is to promote excellence in scientific and professional fields related to or dealing with health and physiotherapy care.

The first day of the conference, November 28, 2024, will begin with lectures from invited speakers on the following topics:

• Geert Pagenstert, MD, PhD, Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology: “Modern Hip and Knee Arthroplasty”
• Mislav Jelić, MD, PhD, Specialist in Orthopedics: “Innovations in Medicine: Each of Us Can Be an Innovator”
• primarius dr. Đurđica Kesak-Ursić, MD, Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation: “The Importance and Need for Long-Term Physical Therapy in Patients with CRPS After Trauma”

On the second day of the conference, 38 oral and poster presentations will take place, alongside a workshop by the Vukovar-Srijem County Institute for Emergency Medicine titled “Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Laypeople”, and a public health campaign by the Croatian League for Hypertension, with the University VEVU as a member.

All full papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings, which are currently in the indexing process.

The Conference has been accredited by the Croatian Chamber of Nurses and the Croatian Chamber of Physiotherapists, with 15 points awarded for oral presentations, 12 points for poster presentations, and 10 points for passive attendance.

Recognizing the importance of advancing healthcare and physiotherapy care in our country, the Ministry of Health has endorsed this conference, demonstrating the significance of organizing the 10^th International Scientific and Professional Conference. The exchange of experiences and best practices during the conference will provide a foundation for future professional work.
