The new academic year at the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar began with a welcome meeting for first-year undergraduate and graduate students.

At the introductory lecture, students were welcomed by the Dean of the University, Assist. Prof. dr. sc. Sanja Gongeta, prof. of profess. stud. Words of welcome were also delivered by the Heads of Departments: dr. sc. Slavica Janković, prof. of profess. stud, dr. sc. Borislav Marušić, prof. of profess. stud., and dr. sc. They introduced the students to the most important information regarding the start of their studies and student life at the University.

The students were reminded that studying is not only about gaining knowledge and passing exams, but also a time for personal and professional development, new experiences, and new connections. They were encouraged to be active members of the academic community, take advantage of internship and mobility opportunities, and participate in student initiatives, sports, and other activities.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of open communication and mutual support, with a message to students not to hesitate to ask questions and seek help whenever needed. We express special thanks to Ivan Belaj, Senior Lecturer, for moderating the introductory lecture and contributing to the pleasant and encouraging atmosphere of our first meeting with the students.

We wish our new students a successful start to their studies, plenty of knowledge, new experiences, and many wonderful student moments. Welcome to our academic community!
