The Croatian Hypertension League, in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences \u201cLavoslav Ru\u017ei\u010dka\u201d in Vukovar, organized a hybrid symposium titled “Vukovar Days \u2013 Gases, Endothelium, and Cardio-Reno-Metabolic Health” from November 27 to 29, 2024, as part of the project “Hunting the Silent Killer.” Additionally, two preventive and educational actions were conducted for the citizens of Vukovar.<\/p>\n

As part of the “Hunting the Silent Killer” project, students of the undergraduate Physiotherapy program participated as volunteers. The participating students included Marko Coji\u0107, Karlo Nikoli\u0107, Bartol Kamenar, Lucija Stanu\u0161i\u0107, Ana \u010calu\u0161i\u0107, Anamarija Hrastinski, Noemi Mato\u0161evi\u0107, and Frano Miji\u0107, under the professional supervision of Slavica Jankovi\u0107, PhD., prof. of professional studies, and Assist. Prof. PhD. Petar \u0160u\u0161njara.<\/p>\n

The activities involved blood pressure measurements, blood sugar and lipid level testing, and metabolic state analyses. The goal of these actions was to raise awareness among the citizens of Vukovar about the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, regular check-ups, and the early detection of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
